Adam: Maynard, you know I was thinking that in our seminal debut album Undertow, we really developed a core sound and song style which we very much deviated from in our subsequent albums.
Maynard: Agreed, I also feel that in spite of the strength of the songs on that album, the tinny shitty production that we all insisted on were to the detriment of the songs.
Adam: In fact I would think that, after the progressive experimentalism of Ænima, the percussive tribalism of Lateralus and your time with A Perfect Circle, giving you the opportunity to experiment with and expand your vocal range, on this, the momentous occasion of the recording our fourth album, we should revisit and update our original sound, on at least one song
Danny: bangs on drums*
Maynard: Right on
Justin: I own a bookshop.
