Ghostface Killah - Shakey Dog

Released: 2006
Download it(4.0 Mb)

It seems like it was only two years ago that rap, or specifically Kanye West was the great black hope of music.

It was coincidentally around the same time that I discovered The Blueprint.

Anyway, 2 years later, black music sounds exactly the same, if not significantly worse. And this is supposed to be the best thing that's happened this year to rap music.

In fairness it's not bad, in fact this song it pretty damn good, but, like... what happens now?

Lily Allen

Now that Mike Skinner has descended into predictable celebrity self-loathing, the time is ripe for an usurper to chronicle the ins and outs of chav life in blighty.

Up steps Lily Allen with her carnival beats and wicked sense of humour. I'd probably hit it too.

Morrissey - Life Is A Pigsty

Released: 2006
Download It

Used as the climactic closing number in his current UK tour, Moz and hired-gun producer Tony Visconti can be rightly proud of this one.

Upon a soundscape of crashing drums, cymbals, rain, thunder, and what sounds like knives sharpening, the new 'positive' Moz informs us that, while life may indeed be a pigsty, he's fallen in love... again.
