All you need to know about the 70s is encapsulated in this track. At various moments it reminds me of The Goodies, flares, Benny Hill, platform shoes, The Good Life, and George and Mildred. In fact, I remember hearing this track at a very young age.
So I go onto the interweb to do some research to find out who exactly this "Van McCoy" character is.
Hang on - he's american? from washington dc? what the fuck? this isn't british?
Oh great, there goes my childhood, raped again. Might as well bend over and wait for George Lucas to finish it off.
